Recovering from a month with quite a lot of red wine & cheese, there is one delicious smoothie that Jo-anne discovered that is perfect for getting through dry January.
This healthy cacao smoothie from Deliciously Ella
could easily be mistaken for the yummiest sweet hot choc. Below is her original recipe, remove the peels of the avocado & banana & stones of the dates and blitz in the blender until smooth for a refreshing and filling smoothie.
Makes 1 large glass:
1/2 a cup of almond milk
1 really ripe banana
1/2 an avocado
4 medjool dates
2 teaspoons of cacao
1 teaspoon of manuka honey
1 teaspoon of almond butter

I love that you can mix it up, Jo-anne first served it to me chilled in a huge wine glass - so so good. I have made it recently without the avocado & banana (added a little extra almond milk) and then heated it up a little, which felt so soothing and indulgent now that the cold snap is in full swing. It is a such versatile recipe, even if you don't have everything at home it does still work if you improvise a little.
